Inofia air purifier

I’ve chosen to review this Inofia Air Purifier as the PM1539 offers a true Hepa filter and an array of Wifi features and smart sensors.

But the PM1539 doesn’t stop there, it also boasts a strong filtration system and a 5-speed fan meaning it’s capable of covering a very large area for the price. This unit certainly packs it all in!

The manufacturer promises that this unit can work in rooms up to 1,056 square feet. It has two composite filters, an automatic mode, a long warranty, and a sleek design. I’ve decided it’s a good time to go deeper into the details to figure out if the purifier is truly worth that money.

Filtration System

This air purifier has two composite filters, which are placed on both sides of the unit. This allows for 360-degree air intake and filtration. Even though such placement somewhat limits the number of places you can put the purifier in, it provides better and faster filtration.

Each of the filter packages has two filters:

Activated Carbon Filter – this filter does an excellent job blocking odors, VOCs, smoke, and other harmful gases. It’s an irreplaceable assistant for such areas as kitchens and basements. It can also help purify the air in households with smokers.

HEPA filter – this filter deals with 99.97% of contaminants 0.3 microns in diameter. It takes care of pollen, pet dander, mold spores, dust mites, and the like. It’s a must-have for proper air purification in any household. With two of them in your purifier, you are getting maximum protection.

Both filters need to be replaced every six to nine months, depending on how frequently you use the air purifier. The unit is equipped with a filter replacement indicator. Don’t be surprised if it tells you to buy a new one in less than six months. It could happen if the air in your home is highly contaminated due to smoke or, perhaps, construction work outdoors.

The cost of filter replacement is about $79, which makes the air purifier pretty expensive to maintain. But let’s not forget that for this money, you get two composite filters (two activated carbon filters and two HEPA filters)

 Design

I give a 5-star rating to the design of this air purifier. You can easily fit it into any décor. A sleek-looking white unit isn’t small. However, it’s easy to move around. The purifier comes with built-in caster wheels. The dimensions are 13 x 13 x 23.8 inches. The weight is 23 pounds. So you may have to strain a little carrying it up and down the stairs.

Since the unit has filters on both sides, you need to install it away from obstacles. I would recommend placing it at least 10 inches away from walls. Caster wheels allow moving the machine around the room so it doesn’t get in your way.

The air purifier has two panels. One features several useful buttons, which are easy to press. The other one is an LED screen that shows temperature, humidity level, and the level of air contamination. I love how much information you can get from one device. It’s highly informative and nice-looking at the same time.

Smart Options

Inofia air purifier smart options

I’m a fan of air purifiers with a variety of smart options, and this one is packed with them. Even though Inofia isn’t one of the popular air purifier manufacturers, it has definitely done a good job trying to be noticed.

Wi-Fi operation – you can operate the air purifier with a special app from your smartphone. This is an excellent option for people, who want to monitor the situation in their homes when they are away or simply want to control the appliance remotely.

Sleep mode – the fan switches to the lowest speed and the panel dims, allowing comfortable sleep.

Timer – you can set the timer for 24 hours or less, using two-hour intervals. It’s a wonderful way to keep the purifier working for just as long as you need it.

Auto mode – the unit is equipped with an air quality sensor. When you run it on auto mode, it checks the air regularly and adjusts the fan speed accordingly.

Child lock – you can lock the panel to prevent children from playing around with the unit.

Filter replacement indicator – tells you when it’s time to change the filters so you don’t have to monitor them on your own.

Overall, this air purifier has all the necessary smart options for easy and enjoyable operation.

Noise Levels

The manufacturer claims that this air purifier is extremely quiet. Let’s look at the numbers to find out how quiet it really is.

  • Speed 1 – 27 dB
  • Speed 2 – 34 dB
  • Speed 3 – 42 dB
  • Speed 4 – 45 dB
  • Speed 5 – 52 dB

So at its lowest fan speed, the air purifier produces only 27 decibels. This is comparable to the sound of rustling leaves. Meaning, you can easily use this unit in the bedroom even if you are a light sleeper.

At the fastest fan level, the noise is comparable to a normal conversation. This could be annoying if you are working or watching TV. However, running the air purifier at its highest fan speed is only necessary when you first start using it. Once the air is clear, you can maintain its quality by using second or third fan speeds.

Coverage Area

The manufacturer promises that this air purifier can deal with 1,056 square feet of space. Since I’m used to manufacturers exaggerating the numbers a bit, I work with the CADR rating to figure out the truth. Let’s look at this air purifier’s CADR:

  • Smoke 330
  • Dust 330
  • Pollen 330

To find out how big of an area the purifier can service, I use a simple formula – CADR x 1.5. In this case, we get 495 square feet. It means that for an area of about 500 square feet, the air purifier can provide about five air changes per hour.

For a room, which is 1,056 sq. ft. (as claimed by the manufacturer), the unit can offer about 1.5 air changes per hour. This may be sufficient for slightly contaminated areas. However, people with allergies or respiratory problems shouldn’t consider anything less than 4 air changes per hour.

Overall, this air purifier can do an excellent job cleaning a large room of up to 500 square feet. For larger areas, the number of changes per hour decreases substantially.

Warranty

Inofia offers a 24 months guarantee for its purifiers. I would prefer a longer warranty for such a pricey unit. However, it’s good enough to discover all problems, if any, and get the purifier replaced or repaired.

Pros:
  • 2 HEPA filters
  • Sleek design
  • Easy filter replacement
  • Large coverage area
  • Air quality sensor
  • Excellent sleep mode
  • Quiet operation
Cons:
  • High initial and maintenance costs
  • Large and heavy

Inofia PM1539 Air Purifier Review Conclusion

After reviewing this Inofia air purifier, I can confirm the majority of claims the manufacturer makes about it. The unit has numerous smart options, which make it easy to operate. It has a powerful filtration system with two much-needed filters. The design is excellent while the built is durable. Even though it comes with a couple of downsides, one of which is the price, I would recommend this unit for homeowners, who need powerful air purifiers with easy and enjoyable operation options.
