Hathaspace Smart True Hepa-Air Purifier

I’ve chosen to make a Hathaspace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier review for two important reasons. It has a 6-stage filtration system, which I believe is the biggest I’ve ever reviewed. The second reason is its a pretty quiet air purifier. It’s one of the very few air purifiers on the market, the noise levels of which are less than 20 dB.

This is a relatively new company to the market. From what I’ve seen so far, they appear to offer amazing value for money. I hope we can write many more Hathaspace air purifier reviews when they expand their line.

I also enjoyed the unusual design of this unit. As a bonus, it comes with a nice price tag. In fact, it’s low enough to attract homeowners, who are on a tight budget. Let’s go deeper into details to figure out how good this air purifier really is.

Filtration System

I always start with the filtration system since it’s the most important part of any air purifier. After all, who cares about the amazing high-tech design if the unit does a poor job cleaning the air?

This air purifier has a 6-stage filtration system.

Nano cold catalyst filter – the name is fancy but in reality, it’s a regular pre-filter, which captures large particles on their way inside in order for the rest of the filters to do their job better. This filter needs to be replaced every 6 to 9 months.

Cellular activated carbon filter – this one deals with odors, smoke, and VOCs as well as harmful gases. This filter does a good job keeping the air clean in the kitchen. It also has to be replaced once every 6 to 9 months.

Antibacterial filter – takes care of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, which make their way into the air purifier. It’s a nice option for households with small children. The filter works for 6 to 9 months.

HEPA filter – this filter deals with 99.97% of contaminants 0.3 microns in diameter. It eliminated dust mites, pollen, mold spore, pet dander, and much more. It’s a powerful filter, which is an integral part of any top-notch air purifier. It should be replaced every 6 to 9 months

UV light – this light is optional. It can deal with bacteria and eliminate odors. The bulb last for about 6 to 12 months depending on how often you turn it on.

Ionizer – another optional filtration stage. It releases negative ions, which attach themselves to positively charged contaminants and neutralize them.

Every 6 to 9 months you have to buy filter replacement sets. They contain four filters (pre-filter, carbon, antibacterial, and HEPA). The cost of such a set is about $35, which is quite reasonable.

You don’t need to do any filter washing. However, the manufacturer recommends exposing filters to sunlight every once in a while to kill the bacteria. It sounds like an excellent way to fight bacteria, but I’m not sure what to do in some regions in the winter when sunlight is very scarce.

Overall, the filtration system is powerful. Since it contains an antibacterial filter, you have to make sure you replace it on time. Otherwise, the air purifier may produce a reverse effect, releasing the bacteria into the air you breathe. Thankfully, there is a filter replacement indicator available.

 Design

Hathaspace Smart True Hepa Air Purifier-design

I enjoyed the design of this model because it’s unusual. The large panel scared me a bit at first before I found out that there is a “lights off” feature. By the way, this feature is only available in models, which were made after September 2018. So be careful when buying the air purifier. Older models don’t have the option. However, unless you are a terribly light sleeper like me, it’s not a problem.

The air purifier weighs only about 12 pounds, which makes it easy to carry around the house. It’s about 20 inches tall, though. Some people may feel as if it’s too tall, but I know that small air purifiers usually can’t service large areas. So I don’t mind the model being tall.

I think that this air purifier fits into any modern décor since it has a high-tech appearance. For classical decors, the air purifier will look good next to the TV or computer.

Smart Options

Even though this air purifier is reasonably priced, it has more smart options than some of its more expensive counterparts.

Air quality sensor – the sensor monitors the quality of the air in your room in order to adjust the fan settings accordingly.

Auto mode – uses the information from the air quality sensor to adjust the fan.

Sleep mode – the air purifier dims the lights (for models released after September 2018) and keeps fan settings at the lowest level regardless of the air quality.

Timer – you can set the interval from 1 to 12 hours in order for the unit to go off whenever you need it to.

Remote control – you can change the settings with a remote control.

Overall, this air purifier seems to have all the smart options an average homeowner would need.

Noise Levels

Here is my favorite part about this air purifier. It’s one of the quietest purifiers around. Noise levels are important to me because I’m a light sleeper. However, even people without sleep problems can appreciate the virtual inaudibility of this air purifier.

At its lowest setting, the unit produces only 18 dB. This is somewhere between silence and rustling leaves. Amazing, isn’t it? You can put this air purifier next to your bed and never hear it work.

At the highest fan setting, this model produces 43 dB. This is similar to the computer working. For the majority of people, this sound is suitable for a bedroom so they don’t even have to use the sleep mode.

I commend the manufacturer for managing to create an air purifier with such low noise levels.

Coverage Area

Let’s talk about capacity. Before reviewing this air purifier, I’ve browsed different sources to find completely different information. The manufacturer seems to claim that the unit can service rooms up to 360 square feet. Other resources say that it can work with rooms up to 300 square feet.

Let’s not make any guesses and look at the numbers. I always work with CADR, which shows exactly how many square feet an air purifier can clean. For this unit, CADR is as follows:

  • Smoke 160
  • Dust 160
  • Pollen 160

By using my favorite simple formula, CADR x 1.5, I figure out that this air purifier works best for rooms up to 240 square feet. Yup. Not as much as I hoped for, but it’s still a nice number.

Considering the coverage area, this unit can be suitable for the majority of bedrooms and some living rooms.

Warranty

I can’t say I’m happy with the warranty, but it does exist. The manufacturer offers a one-year warranty and lifetime support for all its models.

Pros:
  • Powerful 6-stage filtration system
  • Very quiet operation
  • Many smart options
  • Sleek design
  • Coverage area of 240 square feet
  • Reasonable price
Cons:
  • One-year warranty
  • The need to expose filters to the sunlight for cleaning

Hathaspace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier Review Conclusion

After reviewing this air purifier, I can recommend it to homeowners, who are looking for a powerful air-cleaning unit at a great price. This model packs all a good air purifier needs, including such vital components as a HEPA filter, air quality sensor, and a sleep mode.

This model has an unusually sleek design, ability to purify air in large rooms, and an optional ionizer and a UV light. It’s a solid package with a reasonable price tag.
