This air filter comes with one of the best Hepa filters money can buy. As you may not already be aware of, The Hepa filter is the workhorse of any good air purifier. This is the filter that’s designed to catch even the tiniest, microscopic dust particles so they don’t make it into your respiratory system.

To accompany the award winning Hepa Filter, this Oransi air purifier also comes fitted with a control sensor that’s designed to monitor the dust levels in your room and adjust it’s purifying force accordingly.

Whilst it may not be the cheapest option in town, if you really want the best dust air purifier, this is the unit to buy.

Able to service a room up to 600sq ft, it’s perfectly capable of cleaning most large rooms. Actually, it’s a good option for a bedroom, as it’s also very quiet, even on high fan settings.

If you read through the rest of the Freshairguide Website, you will probably notice we absolutely love Alen Air Purifiers. They are quite simply, the best all round air purifiers money can buy.

Like all Alen purifiers, the Fit50 is a class leader and one of the best machines out there currently.

Whilst this unit is a beast, it just misses out on top stop as the best dust removal air purifier. The Oransi narrowly wins that accolade due to the inbuilt sensor and that award winning Hepa filter.

The reason we think so highly of the air purifiers that Alen make, is that they’re fully customizable. From all the different filters Alen offer, to the unique interchangeable face plates that allow you to tailor the device to your rooms decor.

Speaking of Filters, the Fit50 comes with an optional dust mite filter, specifically designed to target the problem we’re looking at. This is the primary reason we rate it as the second best air cleaner on the market in 2020.

Whilst it is another fairly expensive air purifier, the Fit50 can service large rooms up to 700 sq ft. If this is overkill for the size of the room you wish to use it, check out some of the other Air Purifers in the Alen range. Typically the smaller the coverage size, the cheaper the air purifier.

Another aspect that I love about Alen, is that they provide a life time guarantee on all their air purifiers. Which tells me, they feel pretty confident about the quality of their products.

The Airminus A2 from Rabbit is arguably the best looking machine out there. It’s also super thin. So thin, you can hang it on the wall.

The reason we put this as our third best air purifier for removing dust is because it comes with a whopping 6 stage filtration system. This includes a customizable filter, where you can choose a special filter specifically tailored to catching dust in the air.

If all of those filters weren’t enough to fully clean your room, it even comes with a negative ionizer, which is a very unique dust absorber. The Airminus A2 is truly a piece of Artwork. I love that this air purifier comes with a range of different face plate options and that you can hang it on the wall.

The bad bit. Yes, it’s a bit expensive. Especially considering it can’t quite clean the air in very large rooms as the manufacturer states. 500 sq ft is still admirable though and more than enough for most people.

The Airmega is quite a large machine and capable of cleaning really big basements.

The market now seems to be favoring air purifiers with washable filters so we can save money on those costly filter replacements every year.

The Airmega comes with a washable prefilter but also a fantastic True Hepa filter, making it an exceptionally good purifier for apartments or houses with big rooms.

It touts a hospital grade filter system, but unfortunately that all comes at a price. If you have large rooms however, you really have to take a look at this giant air cleaner.

I also really like the design of this unit. It comes in a choice of White or Black. Added to this, you get a variety of different smart options and monitors to make sure your air stays healthy all the time, with little input from you. In fact, if you so desire, you can even control it from Alexa or your phone.

We put the Aeramax 300 in our Best Air Purifier for Dust Mites list as it offers great value for money. The Aeramax is another air purifier that features a specifically designed filter which also happens to be one of the best out there for a cheap price too.

Having won awards and featuring a 4 stage purification system, this unit is seriously one of the best air purifiers for dust removal. And at a very decent price considering the large area it can service.

The Winix 5300 is a very potent purifier for room cleaning. It has a 4 stage filter system that’s very effective at removing house dust and micro contaminants.

The four stages comprise of a pre-filter, activated carbon filter, the all important HEPA filter, all backed up by a fantastic ionizer. Not the biggest air purifier on the list, but we’re stating to come down in price a bit here. This is a very solid middle ground air purifier. Not quite budget, but not expensive either.

It comes with a TrueHEPA filter, which is another fanicer way to say it’s a genuine Hepa filter. This can easily deal with dustmites as it can capture 99.97% of particles of just 0.3 microns in diameter.

The PlasmaWave technology is the Winix take on an ionizer. It’s designed to capture even the tiniest of microbes from the air as they float around your room. It does this by producing negative ions that attach themselves to the tiny particles (plasma clusters), which weighs them down into a collection area at the bottom of the air purifier.

It also comes with a dust filter monitor that will tell you when the trueHEPA filter is completely clogged and needs to be replaced. Once a Hepa filter is unable to suck in all the contaminants found in the air, it is essentially useless.

The Rabbit Air Biogs is a very energy efficient air cleaner with very long lasting filters

The unique patented Hepa filter on the Biogs can last over a year and a half, which is a very long time and beats off all competition. Unfortunately when it is time to replace this filter, it’s quite expensive – but that price is more than offset by the fact that it will last twice as long as other air purifiers.

If dust in the bedroom is your primary concern, then this would make a fantastic choice, as it’s also one of the quietest air purifiers around.

What I really like about this air purifier is the unique design. Rabbit have a history of making really good looking devices for the home. Their previous model (above in this list) the Airminus was designed to be hung on the wall like a piece of artwork. Rabbit seem to understand, that whilst people want clean air in the homes, they don’t want it at the expense of their decor. Some manufacturers are still making big, ugly machines that are purely there to serve a function with no design aspects involved.

This is our pick for the best budget dust air purifier. It packs a fantastic genuine Hepa filter backed up with a UVC Light to kill all microscopic organisms in rooms up to 150sq ft for a bargain price under $100.

The purezone packs a powerful punch with it’s 4 stage filtration system designed to track down all microscopic particles in the air. The true Hepa filter is backed up by a UVC light which is designed to kill off bacteria, fungi and dustmites that the Hepa filter might have missed.

Unlike many other air purifiers in this price bracket, you even get some smart options all packed up inside a super cool looking design that will easily clean the air in smaller sized rooms.

For those of you wondering how to remove dust from an entire room, you need to pay close attention to the size of your room and the maximum sized space the air purifier can handle on the highest fan setting. Whilst the purezone is a very capable little unit, it’s not great at cleaning most medium and large sized rooms.

How to get Rid of Dust

If you’re wondering why does my room get so dusty? Chances are it’s because you’re not cleaning properly for dust control or not doing it often enough.

By simply sweeping your surfaces with a feather duster, all you are doing is sending the small particles flying around the room, increasing the chances of breathing them in. Eventually, the remaining particles that you didn’t inhale, will just settle back down on the same surfaces you just tried to remove them from.

If you have a problem with excessive dust in house, you need to look at ways of preventing the build up and also learn how to get rid of it in the air before it has time to resettle.

Mopping the floor and using polish on surfaces is much more effective than simple dusting. Especially using a good polish on your surfaces, as it has active ingredients designed to eradicate tiny particles. For kitchen surfaces, using a polish isn’t recommended, but thankfully most kitchen surface cleaners have similar repelling ingredients in them. Unfortunately though, if you don’t perform regular cleaning, it doesn’t take long for more dust to take the place of the stuff you just removed.

A moderately better solution would be to clean your surfaces using an anti-dust mite spray. It’s also possible to use these sprays on your bedsheets, which can be a major habitat for mites. However, you will need to continue to spray more than once a week and just one can of spray can cost a lot of money.

What I like to do, is crank my air cleaner on high, whilst I vaccum and mop the room, wearing a good quality N95 mask that you can buy on Amazon.

That way, I know that any particles that escape my cloth and whipped up into the air, will be caught by the purifier.
